My Message to Burlington Riding Members
June 22, 2021
Today, I am humbled and excited to be confirmed by members of the Burlington Conservative Riding Association to represent them in the next federal election. The nomination race provided an opportunity for association members to reflect on and discuss issues of utmost importance to them, and to engage with others in these discussions. Over the past few months, I have spoken with hundreds of association members and other residents of Burlington, who have trusted me with their stories, and their concerns, and as I go forward towards the election, it is these conversations that I will carry with me.
There are so many people that I have to thank for their hard work on the nomination campaign, who generously gave of their time and shared their experience and wisdom with me. The capacity we have within our ranks to mount a formidable election campaign is tremendous and I know you are ready to transition to that task. Thank you!
I would also like to acknowledge Mr. Scott for his willingness to seek the nomination, and to his team for their commitment to him and to the nomination process. A race is not a race with only one person, and the level of engagement and energy that was generated within the Riding over the past weeks as a result is what we now need to harness to take us to the next and most important step, and that is returning a Conservative MP to Ottawa.
In the days and weeks ahead, it is imperative that we come together as Conservatives to build a team of volunteers as an election call nears. Regardless of your experience, or the amount of time you have, there is a place for you on the team, and I welcome your support. The Conservative Party of Canada is assembling an incredible group of candidates across the country, and are well prepared with policies that will return Canada to a safe, respected, economically rich country under a Conservative government.
Thank you to all members of the Burlington Conservative Riding Association. Now it’s time to get to work!
